Jan Millington & Ben Stringer represented a 70 year-old female who underwent an ultrasound guided liver biopsy and during the procedure she experienced severe abdominal pain. Plaintiff`s expert claimed the radiologist perforated the hepatic duct. She was followed by a gastrointestinal doctor in the hospital. Diagnosis of the injury as a result of the biopsy procedure was delayed for 5 days. Plaintiff developed an abscess, severe bleeding and nearly died. Ultimately, a surgeon was consulted and surgery was performed. Plaintiff suffers from ongoing abdominal pain due to the acidic bile damage. The case settled for $125,000 in June of 2003.
