Settlement for Slip and Fall
$150,000 Settlement. Don Woody very recently represented a 79 year old grandmother who had fallen over a large plastic missionary donation box in the hallway of her church in downtown Springfield that caused a sceral laceration to one of her eyes. She had preexisting macular degeneration and suspected glaucoma. The case settled during mediation for $150,000 after the parties' depositions were taken and the case was 3 months before trial. An architect was retained by Woody to address building code, fire code, and ADA regulation violations.
